Camp Chet is hosting a Father and Son Camping Weekend Retreat September 4-6 2026.
No resort. No WiFi. Just 900 private acres, real skills, open trails, and the kind of time fathers and sons don’t make enough of. We’ve made it for you. All you have to do is show up.
Snow Bull Trail Runs 2027
Camp Chet is hosting the 6th Annual Mad Cow Trek Club’s Snow Bull Half Marathon and 6/12 Hour Trail Runs on January 16 2027.
We have had 5 great successes but the next race will be even more amazing!
Expect a longer more scenic route with 1600 ft of elevation on each lap.

Camp Chet is dedicated to providing the setting for an amazing camping experience for anyone looking for immersion into lush Tennessee forest.
We have several camp areas and many miles of marked hiking and mountain biking trails on over 900 acres of the Cumberland Plateau just north of Chattanooga TN and 2 hours south of Nashville and Knoxville.
If you are looking for Cozy Camping, our well insulated off-grid cabins at Fry Camp (Pepoon, Clark, and Kolts) provide a bed with fresh linens, grill and fire pit, as well as a nearby port-o-potty and pavilion. This is a great choice for new campers and seasoned campers alike.
If you want to bump it up a notch, Bubbe’s Barn is an on-grid cabin that offers heating / cooling, indoor plumbing, and Wi-Fi in addition to great beds with fresh linens, a grill and large fire pit.
We also offer well-spaced RV sites with power and water hookups for those that want to bring their own RV or Camper. If you have your own RV / Camper / Overlander but want to be off-grid, we have Boondocking areas as well.
And last but not least we have loads of tent and primitive camping spots for those that want to embrace nature in their own tent or hammock. You may choose a spot you can park near or we can point you to some amazing spots you hike in to... your choice.
Bowen Chapel is a beautiful outdoor event area next to Bubbe’s Barn Cabin that can accommodate up to 100 people... ask the camp host about an event application in conjunction with your reservation.
If you want to chill at camp, you will love the quiet and relaxing remoteness. If you are into hiking or mountain biking, you will find miles of marked and unmarked trails... some easy and some challenging.
Close proximity to Chattanooga and many off-site parks, waterfalls, trails and activities make this an ideal place to vacation and see what South East Tennessee has to offer.
